Configuring risk reviews in Assurance

Administration Access is required to configure the default risk review settings.
Assurance allows you to configure the settings for risk reviews by risk template.
1. Configuring the risk assessment settings for a risk template
To configure the settings of the risk assessment for a particular template:
- Select the Administration cog icon from the navigation menu.
- Select Register and Form Templates and select your desired risk template.
- Select the Fields tab to view the fields in the template and select on the name of Risk Assessment Field.
- You then have the option on whether to Edit just the name of the Risk Assessment field and a description of the field OR to Edit Settings of the Risk Assessment. Select on Edit Settings.
2. Configuring the default risk review settings for a risk template
Risk review defaults can be configured for each risk template to save you time. Some risk review settings can be configured on a risk-by-risk basis, if required.

Select the Risk Review Frequency you would like to set up. You have the option of No Review OR you can select Review Required. If you wish this to be a regular review, tick the Repeated box. If you select No Review then that Risk will not require a review. |

Reviews can be sent out on a regular basis including Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Six-monthly, and Yearly. If you would like the risk review to repeat, select Repeat. If the review needs to happen just once, you do not need to select Repeat.

You can select Yes for User can edit the Review Frequency or lock in that frequency as something only a Super User or an Administrator can edit. If you select No, the Person Responsible will be unable to change the Review Frequency when reviewing the Risk. |

| Available for Risk Review Date |
You can decide when you would like the Available for Risk Review Date. For example, selecting '5 weeks before' will send out a notification 5 weeks before the due date of the review, and you can then tick the Repeat Notifications box if you would like notifications about the review being available to go out on a regular basis. These reminders could be set for every x weeks or months or quarters. If you only want the review to be available on the due date put a 0 in the numeric field. This allows you to specify how many weeks or months before the Review date, the Risk is available for review. |

| Notification after the Review Date |
A decision will then need to be made on whether you would like Notifications after the Review Date to be sent out. These are sent out as are part of the Daily Reminder Notification. They can be set as Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly. If set as weekly, the user may select the day of the week. |

3. Configuring the review settings for a risk in a risk register
Risks will only be available for review on and after their Available for Review Date. The Available for Review period is set for all risks in the default Risk Assessment Settings for each risk template and cannot be changed for each risk.

| First Review Date |
If a Review is required, select the First Review Date. Please Note: This will need to be a Date in the future which should not be changed on subsequent reviews. When creating a risk initially, this is the first date that the Risk will need to be reviewed after today. For example, creating a risk on the 21 November 2017 repeating annually:
For subsequent risk reviews, you do not need to amend the First Review Date. Assurance will automatically calculate the Next Review Date for you. However, the repeat frequency can be updated to reflect the nature of risk being reviewed. |

You may then select that the Reviews for this Risk ends on a particular date. Simply select a date in the Ends On field. By default, Ends On is set to Never end. |

4. Important risk review notes
- Risk Reviews will only show the Next Review Date if it is less than 365 days in the future.
- Risk Reviews will not show when the Next Review Date is Available if it is more than 365 days in the future.
