Setting up your Safe Trip Builder integrations
Safe Trip Builder can connect to your school's systems so information flows in automatically. Setting up an integration is a joint effort:
You provide some information, or approve access, depending on the system.
Our Professional Services (PS) team uses that to configure and switch on the integration.
Your PS contact will guide you through setup and let you know exactly what they need from you. There are two areas you can integrate: Excursion Management and Student Management.
Excursion Management integrations
Supported systems: EdSmart, Sentral, and PCG Next Gen.
With an Excursion Management integration, Safe Trip Builder is embedded (in an iframe) within your excursion management platform — so your staff can work in Safe Trip Builder without leaving that system.
Setup here is simple — just let your PS contact know you'd like the integration enabled and they'll take care of it.
Student Management integrations
Supported systems: TASS, Wonde, and Sentral API.
A Student Management integration lets Safe Trip Builder extract your student groups (classes, subjects and co-curricular groups) and their medical conditions from your student management system, syncing them into Safe Trip Builder. Your PS contact will tell you what they require for your system — the details below cover what that typically involves.
These are the same across all student management systems — please provide them to your PS contact, as they determine how medical conditions map to Safe Trip Builder content:
API Auth List
Medical Conditions
TASS
Your PS contact will ask your TASS administrator to provide the following so they can configure the connection:
API Endpoint
App Code
Company Code
Token Key
Once these have been provided and entered, PS will complete and test the connection.
Wonde
Wonde connections are set up by our PS team. As part of this, PS will send an approval request to your school through Wonde — the integration can't proceed until your school approves it.
Your school's Wonde administrator needs to:
Look out for the approval request from Wonde.
Approve the request, including all the required data fields (permissions).
Once approved, the PS team completes the setup and tests the connection.
Sentral API
If you use Sentral as a student management system (commonly with PCG Next Gen), send the following to your PS contact:
Sentral API endpoint
API key
Tenant key
What happens next
Once the PS team has configured your Student Management integration:
Your groups and students begin syncing into Safe Trip Builder.
You can then map your groups so they appear in the correct drop-downs — follow How to Map Groups in Safe Trip Builder.
If anything isn't syncing as expected, use Test Connection (Wonde only) on the group mapping screen and contact your PS contact or our Service Desk.
