How to Manage Contextualisation for Parent and Child Sites
If you’re a Group Administrator, you can now manage contextualisation directly from the Edit Content tab in the Tools Panel on each page.
From here, you can:
-
Update values for your parent site only
-
Push updates to all child sites
-
Lock or unlock values so child sites can (or can’t) make their own edits
-
Set custom values for individual child sites
Understanding the Padlock 🔒
The padlock icon controls how your changes are shared between sites.
| Padlock | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 🔓 Unlocked | Updates apply to the parent site only |
| 🔒 Locked | Updates apply to the parent site and all child sites (overwriting their current values) |
| 🔄 Unlocked after locking | Child sites can now replace your value with their own |
⚠️ Tip:
When the padlock is locked, any existing child site values will be replaced.
If you’re updating from a master site, these changes can’t be undone.
