Updating Context Key Values Directly on the Page
Context Key values can be updated on each page in your site.
As an administrator (in administrator view), you will be able to see yellow and grey highlighted text on each page.
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to update context key values.
How to Edit Context Keys Directly from the Content
1. Click the eye icon to enter into administrator view.
2. Navigate to a page within the module you are interested in setting-up.
Context keys will appear as highlighted text, see the example below:
3. Click the context key that you would like to update. In this example we have selected Purpose.
4. The pop-out modal will appear. This modal includes:
- Whether the question is required or optional
- Instructions to help you answer the question
- Location of where the context key is used across your site
5. To answer the question, there are three main things you can do:
- Expand the modal to full screen to give you more room for editing.
- Check the "Apply Placeholder Text as Value" box to use Ideagen's recommend value. Please note if you do this, the value text box will become inactive.
- Type your preferred value in the value text box. Remember you can use the Expand icon to give you more space.
6. Once you have completed this information, select Update to save your value.
Additional Information
You will notice that once a context key has been filled out, it’s highlight colour will change from yellow to grey.
This is how you, as an administrator, can easily tell if a context key has been completed.
These values will also be populated across the entire module. This means that everywhere the context key with the value 'Purpose' exists, will be updated at once.
Remember that general users are not able to see context keys whether they are completed or not.
If a context key has not been filled out, the user will see a place-holder value instead. In the example above the place-holder is 'Purpose'.
