Using Ideagen's policies as a basis for creating your own
Please note that with the new policy format update which is being rolled out module by module starting with Education customers, there are a lot more contextualisation options being rolled out. Therefore, it might not be necessary to create new User Generated Content pages unless there is an urgent need.
Ideagen provides users with the ability to tailor the content it provides through context keys and variables. These allow the user to choose which content to display, and answer questions where information is required.
Sometimes, even with these tools in place, the content is not in a format that the organisation exactly needs, and will not be accepted by decision makers at the organisation. In these cases, there are a couple of options for users to consider:
- Report through the challenge to your account manager or via the support team. They will ensure that all available options have been explored and if necessary, will submit a request to the Content team on your behalf.
The Content team will consider the request, and if accepted will send a content update to all sites to enable more contextualisation options.
It is worth noting that the content is created in an "engine" which means any other customer who has the same content, will also get the update. Therefore, for the request to be accepted, the request should reasonably apply to all customers with the content.
- Turn off the visibility of the existing page and create a new user generated page based on the original content.
This article will take you through how to complete option 2.
Steps:
- Toggle off the original Ideagen page (instructions here)
- Highlight all the text on the page and copy
- Switch into ‘draft’ mode, and create a new page where you’d like your policy to sit (instructions here)
- Click the edit pencil and paste the text from step 2 into the page. You are then free to make any edits to the text as this is now a user-generated page
- Click Save in the top right corner
- Publish the user-generated page (instructions here).
