Retiring and deleting attachments on a form in Assurance
Who is this article for?Full users who want guidance on retiring and deleting attachments on a form in Assurance.
Full user type is required to retire attachments. Super user role is required to delete attachments.
Full users with update rights may retire attachments on a form in Assurance. This includes the Person Responsible and Approvers of a form. Only Super users may permanently delete a retired attachment. This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to retire and delete attachments on a form in Assurance.
1. Retiring an attachment on a form
To retire an attachment:
- Open the form
- Switch to the Attachments tab
- Select the More Actions ellipsis icon next to the attachment
- Select Retire from the dropdown menu
2. Viewing retired attachments on a form
To view a retired attachment:
- Open the form
- Switch to the Attachments tab
- Change the Status filter from Active to Retired
- Retired attachments are displayed with a red background
3. Unretiring an attachment on a form
To unretire an attachment:
- Open the form
- Switch to the Attachments tab
- Change the Status filter from Active to Retired
- Select the More Actions ellipsis icon next to the retired attachment
- Select Unretire from the dropdown menu
4. Permanently deleting a retired attachment on a form
Caution!
Once an attachment has been permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered.
To permanently delete a retired attachment:
- Open the form
- Switch to the Attachments tab
- Change the Status filter from Active to Retired
- Select the More Actions ellipsis icon next to the retired attachment
- Select Delete Permanently from the dropdown menu
- Select the Delete Permanently button to confirm the action
Can't see the option to delete permanently?
Only Super users can permanently delete attachments on a published form. Attachments must be retired before it can be permanently deleted.
